    • In the name of God Amen. This Tenth day of January in the year of our Lord
      One Thousand Seven hundred and Seventy five. I Lancelot Wanless of Newbegin
      in the Parish of Hartburn County of Northumberland and Diocese of Durham
      being in perfect mind and memory do make constitute and appoint this my last
      Will & Testament in manner & form following _ that is to say _ _ _
      First I will that all my just debts be discharged. Item I give & bequeath to
      my Wife Isabel Wanless Interest of Twenty Pounds or Twenty shilligs a year
      from the day of my Death to be payed by my Executors hereafter named out of
      my personal estate at Newbegin as long as she continues my widow _ Also I
      give to my Wife the one half of all my Household Furniture at Newbegin
      except the clock which I give to my son Joseph Wanless. _
      Item I give & bequeath to my Natural son Lancelot Wanless all my Wearing
      Apparel and the sum of ten pounds to be payed by my Ex'tors when he arrives
      at the age of twenty two years
      Item I give to my daughter Mary Wanless the remaining half of my Furiture
      within my House at Newbegin aforesaid and the sum of twenty pounds to be
      paid to her by my Executors when she comes to the age of twenty two.
      Item I give and bequeath to my five sons (vis. Thomas and George by my first
      Wife Ann & Joseph Mark and Lionel by my present Wife Isabel Wanless) all the
      rest and residue of my Personal Estate to be divided equally amongst them
      share and share alike part of each share to be given them during their
      education and at other times according to the Discretion of my Executors.
      And I do apoint John Laidler of Rothley Park and William Winship of Ritton
      (?) both of the Parish of Hartburn and County of Northumberland joint
      Executors of this my last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof I have

      On the 18th day of March 1812 Letters of Admr'on with this will annexed of
      the goods &c. of Lancelot Wanless otherwise Wanlace decd. the Testr. left
      unadministered by Wm. Winship and John Ladler the ex'ors since also
      deceased, were (by Decree of Court) committed and granted to Thomas Wanlace
      the natural and lawful son and one of the Residuary Legatees within named,
      &c the same Thomas Wanlace having first duly been sworn truly to adminr. &c
      as usual
