      Ethel Spence Aston, age 93, of Brigham City, Utah, passed away Feb. 1, 2008, at Brigham City Community Hospital.

      Ethel was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Nov. 8, 1914. She was the daughter of Agnes and William Grant Wanless.

      She married Joseph Henry Aston on Sept. 6, 1936, in Brooklyn, N.Y. They raised their family there before moving to Hadley, N.Y. After many years in Hadley, they moved to Indiana, then to Utah in 1993.

      Ethel was a member of Presbyterian Church of Brigham City, where she held positions of deacon and compassionate leader.

      She worked in the banking business as an executive secretary until her retirement in 1984. Her interests included banking, handwork, sewing and crossword puzzles.

      Surviving are her sons, Neil (Kathy) Aston, of Brigham City, Donald (Jennifer) Aston, of Florence; special nephew, Bill Jensen, of Ventnor, N.J.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Norman; husband, Joseph; and daughter, Carole Adamowicz.

      Visitation is Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008, from 5-7 p.m., at Myers Mortuary, Brigham City. Graveside services will be Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2008, at the Brigham City Cemetery.
