    • Ogden, UT. - Christina Wanless Hunter 81 died at the family residence, 319 Thirtieth St., Wed. 4:20 p.m. following a six months illness. Born in Scotland, Aug. 21, 1832, daughter of James and Margaret Nielsen Wanless. She came to the U.S. in 1877. Her first husband, John Hunter was killed in a mine accident in Almy, Wyoming in 1886. She married his brother, Robert Hunter, in 1890, Robert Hunter was killed in a mine accident in Scofield, UT on May 1, 1900. She had been a resident of Ogden since 1900. She is a member of the LDS eleventh ward.

      Notes:"EMIGRATION. -- The steamship Wyoming left Liverpool on the 13th instant, as announced, having the first company of Saints aboard, numbering some 186 souls, this included returning elders, D. K. Udall, (who was appointed in charge of the company) and A. Galloway, and William Stokes, who were appointed as his assistants; there was as well several returning visitors, including Brother and Sister Whitehead of Ogden; Sister Thorne and Brother Maddison, of Salt Lake City; also brothers Steele, Tracy, Proctor, and Sister H. Cropton, of American Fork, Utah; on the point of starting everyone seemed in good sprits, anticipating a pleasant voyage, and trip by rail to the association of friends and relatives in the valleys of the mountains. May the blessing of our Father surround them with propitious conditions, give them peace and patience, and extend to them his spirit on their arrival in Utah, that they may devote themselves to the building of his kingdom and Zion on the earth."

      OGDEN - Christina Wanless Hunter,
      Christina W. Hunter, died at the family residence, 319 Thirtieth street, Wednesday at 4:20 p.m. following a six months illness.
      Born in Scotland August 21, 1853, a daughter of James and Margaret Nielsen Wanless, she came to the United States in 1877. Her first husband, John Hunter, was killed in a mine accident in Almy, Wyo., in 1886. She married his brother, Robert Hunter, in 1890, and he was killed in a mine accident in Scofield on May 1, 1900. She had been a resident of Ogden since 1900.
      She was a member of the Ogden L.D.S. Eleventh ward.
      Surviving Mrs. Hunter are four sons, John W. Hunter, Riverdale; R. A., Joseph H. and Wilford A. Hunter, all of Ogden: two sisters, Mrs. L. P. Nettles, Ogden, and Mrs. A. M. Romerill, Sterling, Alberta, Canada, and a brother, Joseph Wanless, Monroe. Twelve grandchildren also survive.
      Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Larkin & Sons.
      The 'two sisters' are actually Christina's daughters as verified by Maggie Hunter Nettles obituary.
