    Notes
    • Birth year estimated based on birth year of first (known) child.

Isabella's daughter Mary had a daughter Jane in 1801 "south side of Hamsterley parish" so it appears that this family lived in the same small area for at least 25 or more years.

Isabella may have married John Anderson after having several illegitimate children with unknown fathers  - John & Isabella Anderson lived at Southside and we don't have another Isabella in the area at the time:
Hamsterley 4 Apr 1796 Isobel Wandless & John Anderson. Witnesses: John Spouton & Wm. Hardy
chr 15 APR 1798 Cockfield - John s/o John & Isabella Anderson of Southside, Hamsterley parish.
IGI shows no other chrs for John & Isabella.
Burial at Hamsterley: 1798 John Anderson, South Side, son of John Anderson, farmer, and Isabella his wife late Wanlass, died May 24, buried May 25, age 10 weeks.
Possible burial of John Anderson at Hamsterley: bur 25 Dec 1820 John Anderson, farmer of Southside, age 76
which would make him born abt 1744
      or (also at Hamsterley)
bur 12 mar 1840 John Anderson, Bedburn, age 78
which would make him born abt 1762

No burial  for Isabella Anderson anywhere close to the right age at Cockfield or Hamsterley thru 1856.

Considering that she might have lived at Fulwell, Sunderland circa 1789, and considering that she might be related therefore to the Wanlesses who moved from Hartburn, Northumberland to Fulwell, Monkwearmouth, she *could* be the daughter of Robert Wanless & Elizabeth Hepple, christened in Jan 1753 at Hartburn. There is speculation that Robert & Elizabeth might have moved to Monkwearmouth, because there is an an administration bond for Robert there dated June 1775, with widow Elizabeth.
