Contracted 23 Nov 1832, married 26th ** - James Wanless and Margaret Baxter, both of this parish, dau. of Da. Baxter, manuf'r.
** The date is written just as "26th" with no month specified, and it is between two Dec marriages, but it looks like no month means Nov on this page because it's headed November and only the Dec marriages have a month written in. It's unfortunate that James's occupation wasn't shown.
Interestingly, Lily Hardy Wanless's notes of her research in Edinburgh said that this marriage stated that David Baxter was a LINEN manufacturer. I wonder if she assumed that or saw some other version of this marriage record? Also, she recorded the date as 23 Nov, which is the contract date - wonder if there is a contract document somewhere?
