    Notes
    • Note that James christened 3 children at St. Thomas Stepney all on the same day: George John, Isabella Jane, and Annie Louisa. The first 2 have Mary listed as their mother, and the 3rd has Elizabeth. My guess would be that the first 2 were twins born to Mary and she died in childbirth (in 1857, per GRO index), and James never got around to christening them until he had his first child by Elizabeth, and then he christened them all together.

Apparently married first his wife's sister after his first wife died.

Can't find in the 1861 census. Should be in Stepney, London.
